The post-listening session survey closed on July 31, 2026. Across the Archdiocese,  more than 17,300 individual survey responses, along with thousands of emails, letters, and phone calls were received from the faithful sharing feedback on the first draft models presented at parish listening sessions.  The archdiocese restructuring team is currently reviewing these responses. Once this review is complete, the modeling team, together with a select group of priests and lay leaders from each planning area, will gather to review the feedback for their planning area and refine the models. The work done in the refinement workshops will result in a set of “round 2” models for each planning area. In some cases, one or both models may remain the same as the first draft models. In other cases, one or both models may be new or revised in some way.



It is important to note that no decision or announcement has been made to close any church, including us. All three models for Planning Area 6 designate that there will be no weekend Masses at St. Alphonsus-St. Clement, but it will be available for weekday Masses, weddings and funerals. No consideration was given to continuing the ministry at the Allegria Village chapel.

The Archdiocese of Detroit states that the goal of the restructuring is to ensure that there is a vibrant Catholic presence in every corner of southeast Michigan for generations to come. We believe that not fully utilizing St. Alphonsus Church would not accomplish this goal. St. Alphonsus is the mother church of east Dearborn, a Catholic presence since 1852, anchoring and stimulating the development of the surrounding neighborhoods. Although the demographics of the area have changed, it is still the beacon of the Catholic faith. No other site is as inspiring.

Your support means more now than ever. The restructuring models that were presented during the listening sessions are not the final plan. We can change the outcome, but it requires your continued support. Come to Mass every week, bring a friend, let’s fill this church.

Summer and Fall 2025:    Preparatory work begins
January 2026:      Priests come together to develop draft models for each parish
Spring 2026:         Parish listening sessions held and online feedback collected
Summer 2026:     Feedback reviewed and model refinement happens
Fall 2026:             Archbishop Weisenburger’s discernment
Spring 2027:        Final plans announced
July 1, 2027:         Implementation begins
